Welcome to Shorewood Hugs
Shorewood HUGS is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 women’s organization. Our mission is to make a positive impact in our community and the surrounding communities, one hug at a time. We do this by hosting unique events and raising funds to fulfill wishes for those in need, deserving or disabled. To date, we have fulfilled over 1,300 wishes and given back nearly $1,000,000 to our local communities since 2008.
Our Wishes Program
At the heart of Shorewood HUGS is our Wishes Program. We’re dedicated to helping individuals and families facing hardships. From granting a special experience to helping with essential needs, we focus on providing meaningful moments that bring hope and happiness.

Every wish we grant is made possible by the generosity of our donors. Together, we create a brighter, more compassionate community.

Supporting Our Community
We are always looking forward to giving back and supporting our community, from meals for medical and hospital personnel, participating in Team Nicholas Trivia Night, supporting the Plainfield Junior Women's Club Clues for A Cause after-party, to supporting the Habitat for Humanity Women Who Build project, passing out food at a Northern Illinois Food Bank pop up market, annual fundraising and participation at Relay for Life, volunteering for and a recipient of the annual Will County Brew Run, and so much more .... We so appreciate the continued support and recognition of our community!
Junior HUGS
Building relationships and leadership skills through community service.
Junior HUGS is a youth-led extension of Shorewood HUGS, established in 2011 by four high school seniors who taught dance to girls with Down syndrome. This initiative has since expanded into a vibrant program where teens engage in diverse community service activities.
Over the past 13 years, Junior HUGS members have contributed countless hours of community service, fostering leadership skills and building meaningful relationships through their dedication to serving others.
Thank You for Your Support!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the community for your unwavering support and generous donations over the years. Together, we have built a stronger, more compassionate community, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you!
