Supporting our Community

We partnered with Jeff Reid @ Jerrie’s Dogs and More, to provide snacks and drinks for those working at the mass vaccination site at Joliet West High School! We are thankful to be able to support our community as we continue to work through the pandemic.

Donation to HUGS

Thank you to President Jeff Price of West Lockport Arbor of Gleaners for presenting Shorewood HUGS with a $1,000 donation! We really appreciate your support through the years and this special donation!

Sending big HUGS to all of the wonderfully generous members of the Gleaners that made this donation possible.

Thank you!

Shorewood HUGS is excited to announce that we are the recipient of a very generous donation from Local United Automobile Workers of America #6. Earlier this week we were presented with $10,000 in visa gift cards!!!!!

This will go so far in supporting our wishes program and miscellaneous expenses that we incur through the year.

Our gratitude can’t truly be expressed adequately with a simple thank you! This donation means so much to our organization and the communities that we serve!

Many, many thanks to Local United Automobile Workers of America #6! Sending big HUGS to all of you!

Junior HUGS

Shorewood Junior HUGS are middle school and high school aged girls with a desire to make a difference in our community. Their mission statement is "Building relationships and leadership skills through community service".

Pictured are Junior HUGS girls preparing food for the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago. The meals will feed families of children being treated at area hospitals. This is just one of the many projects our Junior HUGS girls take part in during the year.

Junior HUGS

It’s been over a year since we’ve been able to do any in person volunteering. It was so wonderful to take a group of our senior Junior HUGS members to pack food at Feed My Starving Children! These girls are amazing and truly enjoy community service. We are so proud of them and all that they have accomplished at such young ages.

Sending big HUGS to all of you as you finish your high school years and head off to college.
